PATIENT EXPERIENCE QUICK TIPS

The Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI) in New South Wales, Australia has an amazing number of pain management resources – for both patients and clinicians.

There are well over 500 documents, including sleep diaries, The Abbey Pain Scale for patients who can’t easily verbalize their pain due to dementia, and templates for patients to customize that can help prevent and/or manage pain flare ups.

If you are looking for new ideas for pain management, you’re sure to find some there. The Abby Pain Scale tool pictured here is a one page resource to help evaluate pain in people with dementia who can’t verbalize.
